Optoelectronic Technician

The company seeks an experienced technician to take part in manufacturing and testing optoelectronic and optomechanical sensing systems involving optical fibers. The OE Technician will learn several processes and use various types of tools in the layout, fabrication and assembly of optoelectronic devices associated with patented optomechanical sensing technology. The Technician will learn and apply basic techniques for technicians in the fields of photonics and flow mechanics.

Job duties:
  • Following instructions as outlined in manufacturing procedure, assembles and tests fiber optic sensors and associated electro-optical devices which includes, but is not limited to, fiber alignment, basic soldering, assembling fiber optic cables, and packaging finished goods
  • Maintain and clean equipment used in your production area
  • Fasten optical, electrical, and mechanical parts utilizing various adhesives
  • Follow quality guidelines
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety guidelines
  • Perform product testing
  • Follow and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Perform detailed tasks using fine motor skills and magnification
  • Assists in developing manufacturing processes and optimizing existing characterization procedures
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and keeps inventory
Qualifications:

✓ High School diploma or GED required
✓ Industrial experience in the fields of fiber optics/mechanical engineering/electrical engineering
✓ Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, or function generators
✓ Fluent with MS Word, Excel, knowledge of CAD software is a plus• Fluent with MS Word, Excel, knowledge of CAD software is a plus
✓ Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
